Wed, April 28AI-Assisted Software EngineeringBackend Engineering & Runtimes
You have been asked to modernise a high-profile, difficult-to-maintain application by moving it from an older language to one better suited to current needs, and to use AI to do it quickly. Is it simply a matter of asking AI to read the existing code and rewrite it in another language? Will the result work, and will it continue to work?
In this session, you will explore strategies, dos, and don’ts for using AI to move an existing application from one programming language to another. Working through an existing program as a concrete example, you will examine the code, consider the approach to take, and work through how to make the migration successful.
What You Will Learn
How to approach an AI-assisted migration from one programming language to another
Why simply asking AI to rewrite existing code may not be sufficient
Strategies, dos, and don’ts for working through an application migration with AI
Who Should Attend
Software Developers, Software Architects, Technical Leads, and practitioners involved in application modernisation or AI-assisted software development.
