Testing for Accessibility

Tue, 22 April

Accessibility is a key part of software development, and feedback is an integral part of agile development, where we verify if things work the way they are supposed to and build rapidly on good foundations. As programmers, we know code always does what we type, not necessarily what we intend. Creating accessible solutions is no exception to that rule. In this presentation, we will look at ways to gain insight into how effective our applications are from an accessibility point of view.

Target Audience: This session is primarily aimed at Front-end Developers, as they are responsible for creating user interfaces that are accessible and inclusive, ensuring their applications meet accessibility standards. Software Architects are the secondary audience, as designing systems with accessibility in mind requires architectural considerations, especially for usability and user experience. People & Culture professionals may also find value, as accessibility ties closely with inclusivity and the ethical responsibility of creating technology that works for all users, regardless of ability.
