About the speaker
Anand Rangarajan
VP, Engineering and Bangalore Site Lead, Google
Anand is the Site Lead for Google Bangalore and a VP of Engineering at Google DeepMind. Joining Google in California in 2008, he contributed to Gmail Ads and YouTube in Mountain View before relocating to Bangalore in 2013. Since then, he has led engineering teams in Enterprise, Search, and Google Pay. Previously, Anand thrived in the world of computer networking, enjoying the design, coding, and management aspects. He holds fond memories of his startup, Sahasra Networks, and its acquisition by Cypress Semiconductor. He cherishes the enduring friendships formed with his B.Tech classmates from IIT Madras and his Masters friends from Stanford University. In his free time, Anand enjoys chess, running, word puzzles, Sanskrit, and Indian classical music. He and his wife are also deeply involved in nurturing their two 'startups' – their children, aged 16 and 13.
