The automotive industry is on the cusp of a major transformation as software-defined vehicles (SDVs) become a reality. This talk will explore the reasons why the software transition of the automotive industry is happening now and the future of the automotive industry. You will learn about the factors shaping this trend, including advances in compute power, changing consumer preferences, and government regulations. The talk will also examine the different players in the SDV domain, vehicle OS, architectures, technologies that make SDVs possible -- sensors, machine learning- and talk about the importance of safety and security in SDV development.
Additionally, the talk will also examine the impact SDVs will have on the automotive industry, including the emergence of newer business models and what's in store for software developers. Ravi is an experienced specialist in Automotive electronics engineering, recognized for his proficiency in the end-to-end product development of Electronic Control Units. In addition, Ravi has worked on developing safety platforms for Railways signaling systems and IOT products for Air Quality Monitoring, providing him with a wealth of experience in functional safety and cybersecurity. In his role as the technology leader for India Luxoft's Automotive Line of Business, Ravi is committed to establishing the company as a technology center. He currently oversees the Embedded platform and Android Automotive domains in India.
